This week I want to talk to you about cultivating inspiration and using inspiration to drive your content creation and business plans.
We’re going to cover:
- Why it’s so important
- How to cultivate your inspiration
- How to use your inspiration to drive your business planning
- How to use inspiration as a motivator
Inspiration is crucial in your business. Inspiration is ultimately what drives us to get up in the morning and keep moving forward in our business, especially when we’re not seeing the results we want. For many entrepreneurs the reason they started their business is because they were inspired by something and felt a serious calling, so continuing to tap into that inspiration and that strong calling you feel is vital. Personally, I’m inspired by helping other women create a lit up life by building a business they love that shares their light and message – that inspires me and makes me want to get up every day.
However, inspiration can wax and wane if we don’t take control of it, so cultivating inspiration is crucial to our success. A lot of people have a mindset that tells them that they can only work when they’re feeling inspired, and they use it as their reason to not share content for days (or even weeks) at a time. However, you can cultivate your own inspiration and make it work for you. How do we develop a mindset for inspiration? We must decide that we are in control of cultivating it. We need to re-program our beliefs on this topic and recognize that we are always in control and that there are countless ways to nurture our creativity and inspiration.
How do you nurture your inspiration? The first thing I always tell me clients is not to do it sitting in front of the computer because that almost always leads to frustration that goes like this… we find ourselves staring at the computer when we “should” be working on things waiting for inspiration to strike. This is usually the last place you want to be if you’re trying to cultivate inspiration, so please consider this your permission to step away from the computer and have some FUN! When we pour into ourselves we can then pour into others and into our business. We also find massive inspiration in those moments where we’re feeling truly lit up, high vibe, and joyful. With that being said, I encourage you to make a list of the top 5 things that you know cultivate inspiration in you so that you can use them when you’re struggling to create amazing content or do big things in your business.
Then use that inspiration to drive your business planning. Ask yourself how you can create more courses, programs, challenges, etc. around what inspires you most in your biz. This will ultimately keep you inspired, motivated, and making massive moves. Usually there are some things in our business that inspire us more than others so focus on those. For example I do business coaching but I am also very lit up by helping my clients create and share amazing content, so I have an intensive based just on content creation. Think about the thing in your business that most lights you up and do whatever you possibly can to infuse more of that into your overall business plan and goals.
Lastly, I want to remind you to use inspiration as your motivator. When you’re feeling down in your business, or things aren’t going quite how you planned, always go back to that. Go back to the why that inspired you to start your business and use it to propel you forward. Ultimately, make inspiration your most important relationship and let it walk with you throughout your journey as an entrepreneur.
